AAMC’s Greatest Need

Since 1879, the AAMC has proudly upheld its mission as an independent nonprofit, dedicated to supporting Mills College and its alums through a wide array of programs, initiatives, and lifelong connections. Despite the merger, our commitment remains unwavering, bolstered by the generosity of our community. Your donations are crucial in powering our continued advocacy and vital initiatives, both on campus and beyond.

Help keep the spirit and legacy of Mills College alive by supporting the AAMC's mission for future generations.

Center for Contemporary Music Digitization Project

Fully Funded! Thank you for your support!

Thank you for your interest in supporting the AAMC digitization project of the Mills College Center for Contemporary Music (CCM) collection.

The CCM was founded in 1966 after the San Francisco Tape Music Center moved to Mills College under a grant from the Rockefeller Foundation. Today, CCM has an international reputation based on the path-breaking contributions of its faculty, students, and alumnae/i to electronic music, contemporary performance, and new music in general.

The CCM Archive documents the extraordinary history of experimental music at Mills. Its holdings include archival recordings, photographs, programs, and related materials.

Your contributions have gone towards saving over 1000 landmark recordings and making them available to the global community. Thank you for your help in preserving the major contribution Mills has made to contemporary music and ensuring it is accessible to all!

Note: If you are 72 years or older and are required to make annual distributions from your qualified retirement account (QRA), this is a gentle reminder that you can give directly to a non profit entity such as the AAMC, and you will avoid paying taxes on that distribution. Please contact your broker or financial advisor for additional information.
