Nightcrawling Book Talk

  • AAMC at Reinhardt Alumnae House 5000 MacArthur Blvd Oakland, CA 94613 USA (map)

You are cordially invited to a book talk hosted by the Alumnae Association of Mills College Life Long Learning Committee.

We will discuss Nightcrawling, a stunningly gritty and achingly honest tale of survival by 2018 Oakland youth poet laureate and debut novelist Leila Mottley. The novel follows Kiara, a 17-year-old East Oakland native forced to try and salvage the pieces of what her family once was in the wake of tragedy and injustice. Questions for discussion may be found here.

You may purchase the book from all major retailers or listen to it on Audible. Light refreshments will be served.

RSVP by August 20 to the Life Long Learning Committee by sending an e-mail to aamc@mills.edu.

This event is graciously planned by committee co-chairs Connie Swan Davidson '73, MA '02, EdD '06, and Myila Granberry '05.
