I'm a good judge of character because I pay attention to my own integrity. I speak my mind without fear, but I don't need to own a conversation—others need to talk too. I want what's best for Mills and can help find people who will step up with the same aim. Challenges come with committee service, but a diverse, caring group makes the difference, and I'm willing to be part of that. My life has been one challenge after another, and I'm more whole for it. Where enthusiasm is present, I'm all in. I love being around intelligent Mills women. My evaluation approach: Leadership. Direct communication with a loving but no-nonsense attitude. Someone who is being herself which makes her a good example for others. Being available, responsive and attentive, not going on about how wonderful she is but showing people the depth of her commitments and care. Strength and purpose...
Relevant experience: I've been in business organizational and administrative roles in for- and not-for-profits. I've also volunteered for local and national foundations, some involved in fitness. I'm an active athlete thanks to my crew career while at Mills. I volunteered for East Bay Chamber of Commerce. I am a certified Life Coach.

I have experience in the nonprofit sector with multiple nonprofits, am currently on a board of a nonprofit and have a certificate in nonprofit management. My evaluation approach
Someone who has demonstrated a work ethic and ability to work with a team. Someone who can put Mills first. Someone who is creative and able to think outside the pickle jar.Relevant experience
I have been a leader in church and in a climate nonprofit in Massachusetts. Currently, I am on the board of a climate group in Chicago. I also built a website and database to help nonprofits in Haiti share resources. I have a certificate in nonprofit management. -

I have served on the nominating committee intermittently for the last 8 years. I understand the importance of looking at each candidate with an open mind, as well as understanding how their skills and abilities can be an asset to the board. My evaluation approach: Following the Northeastern University merger, candidates must possess strong fiduciary, legal, or strategic planning skills to manage the AAMC as an autonomous 501(c)(3) while protecting its independent assets and database. Candidates must also passionately champion Mills' historic values—specifically social justice, inclusion, and leadership—ensuring these principles endure through new independent scholarships and programming.
Relevant experience: I have served on the AAMC Nominating Committee and the AAMC Board of Governors, and co-chaired both the Alumnae of Color Committee and the Lifelong Learning Committee.

Because of my extensive experience with the AAMC, I believe I could be a positive member of the nominating committee. I would very much enjoy working with fellow alums to contribute to the future of the AAMC.My evaluation approach: A few criteria come to mind; develop a strong working relationship with fellow committee members. Stress commitment, availability, leadership, and a willingness to support the nominating process, and be willing to compromise if needed to meet committee goals.
Relevant experience: I served on the AAMC Board of Directors for 2 terms and served as AAMC President from 2022-2025. I was active in student government while at Mills and have continued in my adult life to support nonprofits in the Sacramento area.

Serving on the AAMC Board has given me a clear view of what the organization needs to move forward. With over 20 years of experience hiring, evaluating, and managing personnel in major medical centers, I know how to assess people and identify who will genuinely strengthen a team. My nonprofit board service has shown me the importance of balanced skill sets, accountability, and active engagement. I want to help build a lean, professional, mission driven Board that minimizes politics and maximizes impact. I would be honored to support this work on the Nominating Committee. My evaluation approach: When evaluating candidates, I look for people who bring real contributions—time, skills, effort, and a genuine commitment to the AAMC’s mission. I prioritize sound judgment, nonprofit experience, and candidates who bring follow‑through and a meaningful personal commitment to the organization. I look for people who respect community values and engage fully. I’ve kept close ties with many Mills alums and can identify candidates who will contribute from day one.
Relevant experience: I bring over 20 years of VP and Director‑level experience in hospital and clinic administration, hiring and managing hundreds of staff at Kaiser, Stanford, and UCSF. I’ve served on multiple nonprofit boards, including the National Music Museum, Ronald McDonald House, the Aurora Singers, and the Vermillion Area Arts Council.

With a Master's degree in Industrial & Organizational Psychology and a deep appreciation for the power of organizations, I believe my experience and skills would benefit the AAMC. My research at Mills focused on leadership and volunteerism, and professionally I have served as a staff liaison and group facilitator. I have also held numerous volunteer leadership roles, including president, secretary, parliamentarian, and committee chairmanships. Most importantly, I love Mills and have remained actively engaged. I hope to help strengthen alumnae connections, encourage greater involvement, support a more collaborative Board of Governors, and help the AAMC continue to flourish. My evaluation approach: The most important criteria for evaluating candidates are integrity, objectivity, relevant experience, and commitment to the organization's mission. A needs assessment should identify the skills and knowledge required for a strong board, while outreach and surveys can help identify qualified alumnae. Standardized questions and an unbiased selection process are essential to ensure fair comparison of candidates and to minimize the influence of personal agendae, egos, or subjective judgments.
Relevant experience: I have served on nominating committees, and at Mills joined the Diversity and Environment clubs and led the Jewish Students Organization and Mary Atkins. I've served on three boards—a counseling agency, a social service organization, and a synagogue. Volunteering since age 12, I've chaired committees from adult education to finance.

Serving on the Board and the Nominating Committee has strengthened my understanding of what effective, values‑aligned leadership looks like. Through my work in higher education, program management, and community service, I’ve learned how to recognize candidates who demonstrate integrity, follow‑through, and sound judgment. I bring a steady, reliable work ethic and a deep commitment to the Mills legacy. I want to help ensure the AAMC is guided by thoughtful, committed leaders who can support the organization’s growth and stability. It would be an honor to continue this work.My evaluation approach: When evaluating candidates, I look for integrity, reliability, and a genuine commitment to the AAMC’s mission. I value people who stay focused on the work, communicate plainly, and follow through in ways that build trust. I pay close attention to candidates who show sound judgment, respect community values, and bring a steady, discerning presence to the Board. These qualities help ensure the AAMC moves forward with clarity, accountability, and a culture that supports real progress.
Relevant experience: Prior AAMC Board and Nominating Committee member with consistent, reliable service. Program Specialist for Alameda County overseeing multiple programs. Ten years of university‑level teaching in China with leadership, staff supervision, and program management. A Mills education in political, legal, and economic policy taught me that institutions are shaped by the people who steward them and that good stewardship requires both rigor and care. Since 2015, I've applied that professionally: evaluating talent, building cross-functional programs, and solving problems that require holding competing interests at once. I know not to underestimate the power of a focused, committed group. I'd bring that conviction to identifying candidates who are genuinely prepared for what the Board requires, what the institution needs, and what Mills' legacy deserves. My evaluation approach: The most important criteria are a candidate's demonstrated ability to navigate complexity and their genuine orientation toward the institution's future. Board service requires a deep understanding of how organizations actually work, not just how they're supposed to. I'd evaluate candidates on their track record of building consensus under pressure, their capacity to hold a long view, and whether their experience fills a real gap in the Board's current composition.
Relevant experience: I've led director and VP-level hiring at McKay Brothers and Everlaw, and built cross-organizational programs requiring coalition-building and long-term thinking. I know how to identify not just qualified candidates, but the right people for a specific moment in an organization's life.
